Well, I started with the lovely, well lit, breakfast nook...
... and then got distracted with the whole kitchen/living area.
I could so live here.... very conducive for family living...everything at your fingertips....living area near the kitchen... no one is left out, no matter what you get up to in this area... cooking, watching TV, doing homework in the nook.
I love all the natural light and the views of the terrace and greenery..... and the pendant lights go so well together....yet they are so different... a nice mix of canned and pendant lighting. I would whack in a floor lamp near the sofa though, for 'mood reading light'.
Cozy.
Aww, hi puss!
My boys would love a cat.
We move too much.
One day.
Brian and Nigella are much more portable.. and don't eat much.
... and look, there's a little kitchen office nook, off to the left.
Yep, it's got everything.
Could you live here? I so could!
Happy Monday!

I do like it, but I think I love yesterdays one more, if I was building a house I think I would be designing my area something like that kitchen, pantry, dining and laundry area!
ReplyDeleteOh yesterdays took the cake! My dream kitchen! xx
DeleteThat would have to be my dream kitchen! Especially love the windows around the breakfast nook. Could just picture myself there, cup of coffee, laptop, reading and commenting on blogs in the gorgeous light.
ReplyDeleteSigh.
yes, it looks cozy xx
DeletePERFECTION.
ReplyDeleteAnd it's a serious island too, right? Not some dainty little thing stuck in the middle by a dodgy cabinet maker, but a solid, beautifully-made grounded piece. I'm looking to put in a new island and I specifically want one with two pillars like that so THANKS for this beautiful post.
Off to convince the husband ( "You've already got a bench, why do you need a bigger one?"...)!!!!!!!!
Have a lovely day...two degrees here at 6.30am when we all arose!!!
Helen
Oh that's cold HMB! xx
DeleteLove it. Gorgeous. And the pussca is mandatory. Life is so much better with a cat or two in it.
ReplyDeleteK xxx
Oh I miss having a cat :( xx
DeleteI love this too. I want to live there the rest of my life! And somehow, I knew right away it must be from San Francisco. I can't put my finger on why -- the California ease without the L.A. light maybe? -- but when I clicked on the link, sure enough it's a San Francisco architectural firm. After you check out NY, maybe next time, you should go to San Francisco!
ReplyDeleteOh Jennie, I would love too! Next time maybe? xx
DeleteLOVE IT! Chaps just got the whole 'when we build a house this is what our kitchen and lounge room will have' discussion, one sided of course. Damn you have good taste :) xxx
ReplyDeleteYou tell him Ames! xx
DeleteGorgeous and very liveable family room! Hope this week is a bit less contraversial for you A - M! Was reading your previous post........wow! Have signed up with the stat thingamy to check my traffic too! he he..... Anyway, some people must be really bored! Have a good day! KG X
ReplyDeleteHa,ha hope you find good things in your stat thingy! xx
Deleteoh, I love that nook! I try to redesign my kitchen a thousand times a day in my head, and I would love a spot like that for the boys to do their homework. And that island! Surely there's enough room in it for huge and odd shaped platters. We live in an old house with separate rooms for everything, which I do love in theory, but we need a spot to sit in our kitchen. Those pesky stairs!
ReplyDeleteYep. Love it! I love a built in breakfast nook. Next house?
ReplyDeleteThe photo with the shelves around the tv is heaven <3
ReplyDeleteB
You love your kitchens don't you? I love breakfast nooks...my great-grandparents had one that you had to squeeze into to sit at the table. There was a window overlooking the yard and on the window sill were oodles and oodles of houseplants with a bunch of garden gnomes interspersed between. That breakfast nook was one of my favourite places in the house!
ReplyDeleteXx,
Andrea
Just add two bedrooms, a bathroom and I would be in heaven!!!! The closed cupboards are more my style with my haphazardness hidden from sight except of course for the bookshelves...oh what bliss!!!! xx
ReplyDeleteJust gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI could live there to, easy!

I agree! It does have all that a family needs. What caught my eye was the lovely cabinetry filled with books and space for a TV. The balance of books and TV is hard. I am more and more impressed with the all-purpose TV with internet but I love love love walls of books. My boys gobble up non-fiction books at top speed.

Love it! Now, how to configure such a lovely kitchen into my own home....which is utterly unlike this, sadly.
ReplyDeleteI dream constantly about doing something with our cheap 1980s kitchen and separate dining room. I think you've found my ideal room/s and I reckon this is achievable (er, given the money)!. ...Gone straight to my Pinterest ideas board. :)
ReplyDeleteI *need* bookshelves like that!
ReplyDeleteJust need a couple more sofas for my crew and I'm moving in! Love the fact that I wouldn't ned to keep pausing my favourite shows to make sure I don't miss anything while in the kitchn getting a cuppa.

...and Brian and Nigella would be cat's lunch.
ReplyDeleteLove this one, everything one needs to make it a family friendly household. Also love the fact that it has the breakfast nook and the island.
ReplyDeleteOne space that serves multiple purposes. I have done this in my house as much as possible. We've torn out lots of walls to try to achieve this. I'm now loving my more open plan! Thanks for sharing. It's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteso rarely do I see a gorgeous kitchen and say "I want that". But this one has got me seriously thinking, you're thinking of something like this for your new house aren't you??? Anyway, I think it's amazing, and I'm pinning it. Period.
